OKR stands for Objective and Key Results. This is a system used at Google and other organizations to set, track, and measure the performance of their employees. It is a tool meant to foster engagement and create measurable and feasible goals. They are tracked, set, and monitored frequently, usually quarterly. The process is used to bring out the best perspective and creativity of every team.
Originated by Intel, the concept has spread to other Silicon Valley companies. Google adopted the method in 1999 when it had 40 employees.
For example, first of all you need to decide the objective, say, it is improving the customer experience. To make the objective we have set, measurable we will then define the key result areas.
So, OKR will be-
Objective:
Better social media presence.
Key Result Area:
Y to Z: Extend Reach.
Y to Z: Grow Engagement
Y to Z: Expand Mentions.
