What is Apprenticeship? Meaning and Importance
1-2 minutes
Apprenticeship is the process by which a student in a particular subject can put his theoretical knowledge into practice by being given real professional opportunities in an industry. The trainee has direct exposure to the job and working conditions, learning through actual tasks like any permanent job holder does while working in the same office.
This apprenticeship is generally a one-year program with a firm or establishment, after which they are eligible to practice it full-time as an occupation. In the government''s point of view, such labor is termed skilled labor, and they have precise knowledge of their domain.
All the people, like a mechanic, doctor, CA, CS, etc., have to go through this process of rightful practice.
But apprenticeship should not be confused though with internship. An internship is a certificate and is for a brief period that also does not guarantee a job. It is at the discretion of interest. But, on the contrary, apprenticeship is the training process. And it is the mandatory step before finally the person becomes the practitioner of their applied skill set.
